Sustainable Site Planning

We want to encourage the use of brownfield sites and the renovation of existing buildings, then restore a sustainable comfortable habitat for people via technology derived from natural systems and materials -the central philosophy of bright green homes.Jmodel

We aim to:

* Minimize loss of open space by re-using disturbed land, brownfield land, and building retrofits;

* Control erosion through improved landscaping practices; on a domestic scale: encourage gardens

* Reduce heat islands using landscaping; eg grass roofs & walls, trees, gardens.

* Minimize disturbance; positively encourage wildlife of all kinds to achieve balanced habitats

* Restore the health of sites by improving habitat for indigenous species, encourage green links,

* Restore the health of people by links to nature: pathways, perennial systems and fresh food access

* Incorporate transportation solutions along with site plans, encourage alternatives to commuting

* Consider site security and accessibility, lighting, safety and adaptations into the future.

Well this is what we'd like to do - the only means we have to do it is by helping you achieve any of the above. We believe the use of appropriate technology (keeping it as simple as possible) designed in accordance with natural systems (going with the flow) can potentially lift us out of the mess the last century has created.

Have a look at www.permaculture.co.uk, there's a philosophy to run with.
