We’ve started work on a new project to construct a double garage.
First we had to demolish the old single garage and clear the site.
Any earthworks at this time of the year is a messy business and with all the recent rain this was no exception. So to cut down on the mud and mess we installed a site loo so the guys didn’t have to go into the house. This also had the added benefit of stopping the cat from escaping!
Working with our groundwork partner Carr Contractors a new reinforced concrete block retaining wall was then built to hold back the earth bank adjacent to the neighbours property. We went as close as possible to the boundary without risking a collapse.
Once the retaining wall was up the floor slab could be poured and the remaining walls built ready for the roof.
