The Droveway – Phase III

alexhunt Bright Green News, New Project, News

So, if you’ve been following this blog recently (and I know its not updated as often as I should) you will know that we have been working on a project in Hove which has involved several stages – the building of a new double garage, the extension of the house into an (almost) new garden room and now the external wall cladding of the house with Cork insulation and timber cladding.

This phase of the project has involved adding a 40mm layer of EcoCork board from Ty Mawr Building Products between battens with a breathing membrane over this and treated featheredge with a Barndec finish.

As ever – what is, on the face of it, a simple procedure has many small details that need to be considered, adjusted for and incorporated into the overall; for eg what to trim the top edges at tile level with, how to incorporate the fascias and reveals to the windows, adjusting for the natural slope of the building etc..

Once again – a picture paint a thousand words – we are not quite finished (small details to iron out) but we think the house looks stunning…. a definite improvement to the mock tudor look…
