Update X – week 8

alexhunt Bright Green News, New Project, News

So this is only a quick one – but this week feels even busier than last week (if that’s possible!). This have really moved on in leaps and bounds – our air-tightness layer has been completed with the taping with air-tightness tapes at the ceiling corners at first floor and then scaping back the shallow artex ceilings – PVA (ing) on them and then skimming with a new layer of plaster. This should provide our air-tightness layer at first floor.

We’ve also had all the ceilings plastered – we have bricked up the door between the garage and the house – and also formed the openings on the internal leaf of the brickwork for the new dining room french doors and kitchen utility. As we are having to wait for planning permission – we figured we’d do these dirty jobs so that the plasters can get on and not have their art ruined by dust.

Plastering really is an art form – but you’ve never known a dirtier lot (I mean in terms of covered in muck – not in their minds!!) who moan if a site is dirty…
