Week 10 – project update XII

Despite it being a frantic week last week I seem to have taken very few pictures… much of what we’ve been working on has been fitting the bathroom ready for tiling, fitting skirtings, finally sorting out the drainage in the annexe, and also getting the heating up and running (one of the pics below shows steam coming from the top of the vent for the fist time). Also prepping for painting – rubbing down the walls, easifilling, getting the boxing for the underfloor heating sorted, and most excitingly plastering continuing throughout…

In amongst all of this excitement we also went to EcoBuild and saw lost of friends in the business (special mention to www.freegle.com, www.parityprojects.com, www. – amazing how much this tradeshow has changed since the Earls Court days when EcoBuild was more open toed sandals and dreadlocks – nowadays it really is the number one trade show for the construction business.. just goes to show that when even the big companies really see the environmental improvements of properties as the future of building then we really are doing the right thing… but they are still trying to see you bolt on products rather than really understanding the fabric first approach that we advocate…
