So, a quick update on one of our projects - this last few weeks have seen the installion of a 1.75kWp Solar PV system - which we managed to have installed just before the August 1st cut off date when the FIT was reduced again. So this should produce:
yield of 1,265kWh
Total energy produced over 25 years 30,866kWh
A total CO2 offset of 16,699kg - nearly 17 tons!
and earnings of £7,026 (not including inflation increases over the coming 25years!!) - effectively paying for itself without even looking at any of the savings (expected at at least 50% of energy generated at approx 13p/kWh) or energy exported - (another 50% at 3.1p/kWh)
This means that the clients should receive an annual benefit from their 21p/kWh FIT, savings @ 13p/kWh and export @ 3.1p/kWh = £367.
[slideshow id=5]Also a Solar Thermal system was added last week and also new insulation to the flat roof above the bathroom - this will also be eligible for the RHI once the government finally decide exactly what this will be.
Not to mention a quick up date on the grass roof which is going great guns.
